Social Skills Development Sessions

For children who find social situations challenging due to conditions such as autism (ASD), ADHD, anxiety, or low self-esteem, Herd Connection’s Social Skills Development Sessions provide individual’s with a safe space to practice communication skills, build self-awareness, and increase their self-confidence.

Each week participants engage in a fun, hands-on activity or game with a pony or horse designed to encourage important skills like:

  • Greeting Others / Introducing Yourself

  • Talking and Listening

  • Taking Turns

  • Understanding Feelings and Boundaries

  • Teamwork / Problem-solving in Social Situations

Horses and the natural environment help to ease social barriers, allowing children to feel comfortable being themselves.
